Set 382 to win, South Africa lost wickets steadily to lose the match by 165 runs late on Day 4.
Rushmere made 67 in the only real resistance as the home spinners took 8 wickets between them in conditions ideal for spin bowling.
Harper took his 2nd 4 wicket haul of the game, while part timer Arthurton took 3-16.
The result sees the series level at 1-1 with 2 games to play, though the crushing nature of the victory suggests much of the momentum is now with pre series favourites West Indies.
